MoveSpace operates a technology marketplace at movespace.market that connects customers with licensed, independent moving companies. This Privacy Policy describes how MoveSpace collects, uses, shares, and protects the personal information of customers, moving company providers, and visitors to the platform.

By using the MoveSpace platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

From Customers:

• Name, email address, and phone number.
• Origin and destination addresses for your move.
• Move details (date, inventory, special requirements, service type).
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — MoveSpace does not store credit card numbers).
• Communication history (messages with movers, support conversations).
• Account credentials (email and hashed password).

From Moving Company Providers:

• Business name, business address, and contact information.
• Owner and authorized representative information.
• USDOT number, MC number, and FMCSA operating authority details.
• Insurance certificates and documentation.
• W-9 tax identification form.
• Bank account information (provided via Stripe Connect — MoveSpace does not store full bank account details).
• Crew member names and contact information.
• Service areas, rates, and availability.

Automatically Collected:

• IP address, browser type, and device information.
• Pages visited, features used, and usage patterns (analytics).
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies.
• Referral source and search terms.

3. How We Use Information

MoveSpace uses the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Process bookings and payments: Facilitate the booking process between customers and movers, process payments through Stripe, and issue payouts to providers.
• Match customers with movers: Use move details, location, and service requirements to connect customers with qualified, available moving companies.
• Transactional notifications: Send booking confirmations, status updates, crew tracking information, payment receipts, and other service-related communications.
• Compliance verification: Verify mover licensing, FMCSA operating authority, insurance status, and background check results to maintain platform safety standards.
• Platform improvement: Analyze usage patterns and feedback to improve platform features, user experience, and service matching algorithms.
• Fraud prevention: Detect and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorized access, and abuse of the platform.
• Legal compliance: Meet regulatory requirements, respond to legal requests, and enforce our terms of service.

4. Cross-Tenant Data Sharing

When a customer books a move through the MoveSpace marketplace, certain information is shared with the selected moving company to enable them to fulfill the booking. This shared information includes:

• Customer name, email address, and phone number.
• Origin and destination addresses.
• Move date, inventory details, and special requirements.

Customer payment information (credit card numbers, bank details) is never shared with moving companies. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Moving companies that receive customer data through MoveSpace are bound by the Provider Agreement and may only use this data for the purpose of completing the booked move.

5. Third-Party Services

MoveSpace uses the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each service has its own privacy policy governing the data it processes:

• Stripe — Payment processing and mover payouts. Stripe Privacy Policy
• Brevo — Transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, notifications). Brevo Privacy Policy
• Google Maps — Address validation, distance calculation, and location services. Google Privacy Policy
• FMCSA SAFER System — Verification of mover operating authority and insurance status. This is a public federal database.

MoveSpace does not sell your personal information to any third party.

6. Data Retention

MoveSpace retains personal information for the following periods:

• Booking records: 7 years from the date of the move (required for regulatory compliance and tax purposes).
• Customer accounts: Until the customer requests deletion of their account.
• Mover compliance documents (insurance certificates, W-9, background checks): Duration of the provider's active account plus 3 years after account closure.
• Communication logs: 2 years from the date of the communication.
• Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information held by MoveSpace:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data MoveSpace holds about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements (e.g., booking records required for regulatory compliance cannot be deleted before the retention period expires).
• Opt out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly.
• Data export: Request a machine-readable export of your personal data.
