Editorial & Data Guidelines

MoveSpace publishes carrier profiles, quotes, reviews, and moving guides. This page explains where that information comes from and the rules we hold ourselves to.

Where carrier data comes from

Directory profiles are built from official FMCSA USDOT registration data — the federal record every interstate moving company is required to maintain. We show USDOT and MC numbers so you can independently confirm any carrier at FMCSA SAFER. Unclaimed profiles are labeled as such; when a company claims its profile with its USDOT number, the listing is operated by the business itself.

The directory covers US carriers only, and thin profiles without enough verified data are deliberately excluded from search indexing rather than padded with guesses.

Review integrity

Marketplace reviews are booking-tied: a review can only be left by a customer with a completed booking on the platform. We never sell placement in review rankings, never gate the review prompt on sentiment, and movers cannot pay to remove a review. Where a mover connects external review sources, those are labeled by source.

Quotes and pricing

Quotes shown on MoveSpace are computed from each mover's own configured rates — they are real, bookable prices, not lead-generation teasers. Interstate quotes follow federal rules: written estimates, valuation-coverage elections, and Bill of Lading documents are part of the booking flow, not an upsell.

Guides and AI assistance

Moving guides and checklists are written for usefulness first and reviewed before publication. Where AI tools assist in drafting content, the facts are grounded in real platform data and human-reviewed — we do not publish invented statistics, awards, or testimonials, anywhere.

Corrections and reporting a problem

If a profile, price, or article is wrong, we want to know. Carriers can correct their own listing by claiming it; anyone can reach us through the contact page. Reports about a mover's conduct on the platform are reviewed by a person — never auto-judged.
